Abu Simbel is a city located in the southernmost region of Egypt, in the Aswan Governorate. It is situated on the western bank of the Nile River, just a few kilometers away from the Sudanese border. The city is a popular tourist destination, known for its ancient temples and monuments, and the nearby Abu Simbel Airport (ABS). The ruins of the two great temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari are located just outside the city, and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is also home to the Abu Simbel Solar Plant, which is the first and largest solar plant in the Middle East and Africa.
