Anqing is a prefecture-level city in the southwest of Anhui province, People’s Republic of China. It borders the provinces of Jiangxi and Hubei to the south and west respectively. The Yangtze River passes through the northern part of the city, and the Huai River borders the south. Anqing is known as the “Orchid City” due to its abundance of fragrant flowers. The city has a long history, having been the capital of the ancient State of Ying during the Spring and Autumn period.
