Ulanqab, also known as Wulanchabu, is a prefecture-level city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. Located in the north-eastern part of the region, it is situated on the northern bank of the Hulun River and is surrounded by mountains in the east and west. The city is home to a population of 1.5 million people, and is an important industrial center in the region. It is especially known for its coal mining, petrochemical, oil refining, and food processing industries.
