Newtok is a remote village in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta of Alaska, located on the north bank of the Newtok River, approximately 20 miles southeast of Bethel. The village is home to the Yup’ik people, who have lived in the area for thousands of years. The village is located on the edge of the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge and is an important subsistence area for the local Yup’ik people. The city of Newtok is home to a small airport, Newtok Airport (WWT), which provides transportation to and from the surrounding areas.
